A friend loves at all times!

Verse for the day: "A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity." Proverbs 17:17

Thought for the day: True friends are hard to come by. When you find one, they become a life-long treasure. The Good News is that Jesus really wants to be our very best friend! We should always treasure Him, don't you think?

Quote of the day: "True friends are more precious than gold." Petros

"With fervent desire I have desired..."

Verse for the day: Then He (Jesus) said to them, "With fervent desire I have desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer." Luke 22:15

Thought for the day: Jesus really, really wanted to spend His last hours with His disciples! The Amplified Bible says, "I have earnestly and intensely desired..." The Phillips translation says, "With all My heart I have longed..." Even now Jesus fervently desires with all His heart to spend personal time with each of us! Like our Father (God) of the prodigal son (me), our Father (and frequently our parents) will patiently wait for us to return. We should hasten to do so, don't you think?

Quote of the day: "Parting is the bitter-sweet fellowship of divergent destinies. Returning is the sweet, sweet fellowship of re-united hearts." Petros

"Life is dearest when it is waning."

Verse for the day: "For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise You for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are your works, and that my soul knows very well." Psalm 139:13,14

Thought for the day: God, and actually Jesus (see Colossians 1:16!), was intimately involved in the creation of each of us! Our lives are so precious to Him that Jesus willingly died on the cross in my place for my sins... He loves us so much! We should hold life precious and surrender ourselves daily to Him, don't you think?

Quote of the day: "Life is dearest when it is waning." Petros

Experiencing Resurrection Power!

Verse for the day: Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live." John 11:25

Thought for the day: What a promise! Because I truly believe in Jesus, though I will die, I will live! As undeserving as I am, by the grace of God, I will experience His resurrection power, just as He demonstrated. That's why I prefer the term "Resurrection Day" rather than "Easter". Jesus' promise is really awesome, don't you think?

Quote of the day: "He is risen!... He is risen in deed!" Traditional Resurrection Day greeting.

Grow wherever you are planted!

Verse of the day: "He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of waters that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper." Psalm 1:3

Thought of the day: You know, it's always tempting to wish we were planted somewhere else - anywhere else - than to accept that God has us where we are for a reason. But wherever we find ourselves in life, we need to sink our roots into the Word of God and allow Him to bring forth fruit through us, don't you think?

Quote of the day: "Grow wherever you are planted." Anon.
